Heart Songs

No Sunday Share yesterday (again - sorry!) but I had an excuse this time. My baby sister graduated from high school yesterday! This is definitely a time of transition for our family. Lots of big things happening, lots to be excited about.

I do have what I want to share picked out, but I'm not really in the right mood to post it today. I'll have it up for you to enjoy later this week.

Today, I want to talk about one of the unfortunate realities of moving away from everything and everyone you know: I cry. A LOT.

This is a particular danger when I'm listening to the radio or my iPod. I have always been very easily affected by music, probably more than most people.  Music has this wonderful and yet at times unfortunate ability to really make me feel. I believe that sometimes, a good song can convey far more than words alone ever could about the way a person is feeling. So today, as a very personal insight into my emotional state, I wanted to share songs I find particularly moving lately. Enjoy.

(This last one is the big one. I had never seen the music video before just now when I uploaded it and of COURSE I am sitting here bawling. Carrie, girl, I love you.)

I don't want to leave this post on a sad note, however, so I do want to acknowledge that there is music out there that makes me super emotional in a more positive way - hopeful, excited, and strong. (Still with a note of sadness, but maybe it's just my state of mind.)

So, it turns out there are more happy songs in my world right now than the sad ones. Good place to start :)

And after that exhausting emotional purge, I need to go have some quality family time.

Hugs and bellyrubs,

Christy
